The legal team of businessman, philanthropist, and owner of the Tashir Group of Companies, Samvel Karapetyan, has released the fourth part of his statement, in which he assessed the destructive actions of the current Armenian regime in relations with the Diaspora.
“What have the current authorities accomplished? In a short time, they have completely destroyed the presence of the Diaspora in the life of the Republic of Armenia. It is absurd that our compatriots from France, the Netherlands, Russia and other countries are banned from entering Armenia—declared persona non grata. In a short period, the patriotic desire of Diaspora entrepreneurs to invest in their homeland and create jobs has declined. After all, our Diaspora is not only a huge potential for creating economic and business values in Armenia but also a powerful lobbying force.
All this has been made possible by the arrogant behavior of a pensioner and a small circle of individuals who interfere in the internal affairs of other countries through their NGOs.
Sometimes there is an unacceptable perception that the Diaspora does not need Armenia and Armenia does not need the Diaspora. Because of this, our country has lost its most valuable and important ally on the path of development. We have practically lost our most precious and priceless asset—our Diaspora—and the authorities have pushed the situation to the point that Armenia no longer receives investments from the Diaspora. The Diaspora must once again become one of Armenia’s pillars. We will fight. To be continued,” the statement reads.
