Dozens arrested following investigative actions – Ruben Melikyan

Dozens of citizens have been arrested today, June 25, as a result of investigative actions, lawyer Ruben Melikyan said in an interview with Alpha News. He could not provide further details, as he was participating in the investigation himself.

It remains unclear under which criminal case the individuals were arrested.

Since this morning, searches have been conducted in the homes of supporters of the “Holy Struggle” movement. Notably, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, the leader of the movement, was taken from his home by law enforcement. A search was also conducted at the residence of Artur Sargsyan, a member of the National Assembly’s “Armenia” faction.

Additionally, the Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) in Armenia reported that unlawful searches were carried out at the residences of ARF Supreme Body member Igor Sargsyan, ARF Abovyan Committee member Vardan Avagyan, Hrazdan Committee member Artashes Hunanyan, and Noyemberyan Committee member Varazdat Amiraghyan.
