Entry to Russia closed for 200,000 foreigners: Volodin

Laws improving migration policy, passed by Russia’s State Duma, have made it possible to ban entry to the Russian Federation for 200,000 foreign nationals who violated Russian law, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin reported on social media.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, approximately 100,000 migrants were expelled and deported from Russia for violating the law in the first half of 2026. Entry to the territory of the Russian Federation has been closed for 200,000 foreign nationals. Around 800,000 have been placed on the register of controlled persons, Volodin reported.

Since 2024, the State Duma has passed 32 federal laws in the field of migration, 21 of which were initiated by deputies, he noted. “The introduced norms and mechanisms have expanded the capabilities of law enforcement agencies in combating illegal migration,” Volodin wrote.
