Burhanettin Duran, Head of the Directorate of Communications of the Turkish Presidential Administration, commented on Israel’s government recognition of the Armenian Genocide on X, stating that “this is sheer hypocrisy on the part of the Israeli administration, which has carried out the most brutal massacre of the 21st century, ruthlessly killing tens of thousands of innocent civilians, including newborns, women, and elderly people, while daring to use historical events as a political weapon.”

“Israel’s recognition of the 1915 events as a so-called ‘Genocide’ is a futile attempt to conceal the blood of innocent Palestinians shed at its hands, the state terrorism it is carrying out in the Middle East, and the crimes against humanity it commits with impunity,” the statement reads.

According to Duran, “the greatest irony in human history is that those who continuously bomb hospitals, schools, places of worship, and refugee camps in violation of international law are the very same people now speaking of moral and historical duty.”

“Those who stand before the International Court of Justice on charges of genocide have absolutely no right to lecture Turkey on history or assume the role of guardians of conscience,” he stated.
