The European Union Monitoring Mission in Armenia (EUMA) is engaged in gathering intelligence against Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told TASS.

“It would have been possible to curb many of the risks Armenia faces today if Yerevan had agreed to the CSTO proposal (a series of measures to stabilize the situation on the border) in 2022,” he said. “Unfortunately, the Armenian authorities chose to invite a European Union mission, which does not protect the borders of the state at all but rather gathers intelligence against Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan under the guise of ‘monitoring’.”

According to Galuzin, the CSTO proposal included serious initiatives such as military and technical aid, a monitoring mission, and assistance in border troop training.
