European Commission declines to confirm visa-free regime with Armenia by 2029

Paula Pinho, official spokesperson for the European Commission (EC), declined at a briefing in Brussels to confirm that a visa-free regime between Armenia and the European Union will be introduced by 2029.

In July, Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, said he expects visa liberalization with the EU by 2029.

“It’s too early to foresee whether 2029 or another date will be the moment of visa liberalization. I would say that’s the aim, but it’s still too early for that kind of specificity,” said the EC spokesperson.
