As part of cooperation with the Erebuni Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve, the Ancient Oriental Department of the State Hermitage Museum of Russia hosted the grand opening of an exposition dedicated to the Erebuni fortress of the ancient state of Urartu.

As Armenpress reports, Armenian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Vagharshak Harutyunyan attended the opening ceremony.

The exhibition features three exceptional exhibits from the Erebuni Museum-Reserve. It will be open to visitors for almost a year.

According to Hermitage Director Mikhail Piotrovsky, the Armenian people have made a great contribution to the development of world civilization, which is evidenced by the items found at the excavations of the ancient settlement of Karmir Blur in Yerevan.
