Narek Karapetyan, head of the Strong Armenia faction, addressed the work of Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the foreign policy pursued by the ministry from the National Assembly podium.
“Have you heard how you’re representing Armenia’s foreign policy? Let’s look together at the state of our foreign affairs from the position of the Civil Contract party. We’re asked where we’re heading, and we tell the Eurasian Economic Union that ‘we’re just friends,’ that there’s nothing serious between us yet. But the EAEU says: ‘Now decide – are you with me or with the European Union?’ And at that moment, we make the strategic decision to go to China,” he said.
According to Karapetyan, the Civil Contract party acted very honestly by adding the term “international trade” to the name of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“In recent years, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has dealt with only one thing – international trade – but the commodity in that trade was Armenian land,” he emphasized.
