Lawyers for PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan have requested a confrontation with Iranian businessmen as part of a criminal money laundering case. This was reported by lawyer Yerem Sargsyan, who noted that the meeting has not yet taken place.
According to lawyer Emin Khachatryan, the Iranian citizens involved in the case owe Tsarukyan $14.5 million, but present a different version of events.
According to him, the defense has provided documents according to which Tsarukyan should be regarded not as the accused, but as the victim. The lawyer also emphasized that the Iranian businessmen signed an obligation to return the stated amount within two years. According to him, the deadline for fulfilling the obligations is now expiring.
