General David Manukyan, held captive in Baku, addresses Pashinyan

General David Manukyan, held captive in Baku, published a message from prison addressed to Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister.

“This trial is directed not only against these 15 people, but against the past and present of the Armenian people, since, according to the charges and the verdict, it dates back to the beginning of the last century. Regarding all these false accusations, we continue our just struggle, refusing to allow the humiliation of the Armenian people and the rights of Armenian statehood.

I am addressing Nikol Vovaevich Pashinyan, a citizen of Armenia, and calling on you to publicly state your position on these charges. If you do not respond in the negative, this will mean that you agree with the false charges brought forward, thereby making not only yourself but also the Armenian people complicit. Furthermore, I expect to learn the official position of the Republic of Armenia regarding us, those held here.

It is also regrettable that the people held here do not feel the support of the Republic of Armenia behind them. But what can be done? Such is the reality,” the message reads.
