Harut Sassounian: Pashinyan repeats Erdogan’s and Aliyev’s statements

Nikol Pashinyan’s statement on April 24 was an unusual speech—a bunch of incomprehensible words, Harut Sassounian, editor and publisher of the California Courier newspaper, told Alpha News.
To understand the motive behind these contraversial words, we must start with the fact that he has been making anti-Armenian and anti-national statements for many months. Before this, we heard that we should change the name of the subject Armenian History to the History of Armenia. We heard that we should remove the lion from our coat of arms; we should say ‘army of Armenia’ instead of ‘Armenian army’. Recently, Azerbaijan demanded that we remove the term ‘genocide’ and the clause about Artsakh from the Constitution.
Two weeks ago, Andranik Kocharyan questioned the memory of 1.5 million victims, noting that the names of all these people are not mentioned anywhere. But the danger is not that these are just foolish statements, but that you can search and find, for example, 200.000 names, and the Turks, based on this, will declare that they have been right when telling for many years that the Armenian Genocide is a lie,” Sassounian said.
He emphasized that today, Pashinyan is repeating Erdogan’s and Aliyev’s statements.
“It seems that the three of them are sitting in the Prime Minister’s office, and Pashinyan obeys and repeats everything that these two say. Pashinyan states that we need to distinguish modern Armenia from historical Armenia. Thus, he is trying to cut us off from our past, our thousand-year history. He satisfies the desires of Turkey and Azerbaijan,” Sassounian concluded.
