Figure skater Adeliya Petrosian said in an interview with RIA Novosti that she is afraid she will not succeed at major international competitions and will not leave a mark in the international history of sports.

“All my thoughts now are about international competitions because there is hope. At the same time, I feel fear that I will remain only Russian titles. I may get out of shape, or I simply won’t have the opportunity to compete at the international level. This means that I will be a nobody in the international history of sports. As if I never existed,” shared the figure skater.

The International Skating Union (ISU) announced that Russian figure skaters, speed skaters, and short track speed skaters were allowed to qualify for the 2026 Winter Olympics as neutral athletes. The Olympic qualifying event will be held in September in Beijing, with one Russian figure skater and pair in each discipline.
