“I see no grounds”: judge in Tsarukyan case rejects prosecutor’s motion

The judge in the Tsarukyan case rejected the prosecutor’s office’s motion to remove lawyer Yerem Sargsyan from the trial.

“The investigator made a decision, it was appealed, and the court reinstated it. We understood that, but purely on the merits: is there any circumstance that could serve as an obstacle?” said Judge Manvel Shahverdyan.

The prosecutor cited as grounds the possibility that he could appear as a witness, but the judge objected, saying he himself saw no grounds for excusing him from participation in the proceedings.
