ICRC team visited Armenian prisoners held in Baku in February

In February, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) visited Armenian prisoners held in Baku, ICRC Armenia Communications and Prevention Manager Zara Amatuni told journalists, adding that the visit took place during the hunger strike of former Artsakh State Minister Ruben Vardanyan.

According to her, various means of communication are used, some of which are specially coordinated with the Azerbaijani authorities, and the main authorized means of communication are Red Cross messages.

“It is very difficult to say what can make a person give up communication. People are in unnatural conditions and can make different decisions depending on the circumstances. But during every visit, we give them letters or messages from their families,” Amatuni said.
