If opposition is against new Constitution, it will mean being against peace: Pashinyan

If it turns out that the parliamentary opposition is stalling the adoption of a new Constitution and opposing it, this will mean that the opposition is against a final peace with Azerbaijan, Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, said during the preliminary discussion of the 2027 state budget.
“In that case, public pressure will definitely build against the opposition, and the ruling majority will have to lead this pressure if there is corresponding public sentiment,” Pashinyan said.
He also noted that the narrative and political position of the Armenian authorities have always been that domestic issues are not discussed on foreign platforms.
According to Pashinyan, his optimism about the process of adopting a new Constitution is steadily growing. “We will publish the draft of the new Constitution soon. I said it would be by the end of the year, but it will be published in November,” he added.
