In Antelias, prospects for cooperation between the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia and the Narekatsi Armenological Institute discussed

At the invitation of His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, representatives of the former Aniv Foundation, now the Narekatsi Armenological Institute, arrived in Antelias to familiarize themselves with the extensive activities of the Holy See, present their completed and ongoing programs, and discuss possible prospects for cooperation. Cilicia TV reported this on its Facebook page.

“The visit, held from October 1 to 8, 2026, was the first official visit by representatives of the Narekatsi Armenological Institute to Antelias. The delegation included Armen Khechoyan, Artur Soghomonyan, Ruben Atoyan and Goar Avagyan.

During the visit, the delegation members held two meetings with Catholicos Aram I. The meetings discussed possible areas of cooperation, and the delegation heard the thoughts and suggestions of His Holiness and received his blessing.

The delegation members toured the buildings of the Catholicosate and saw the Cathedral, the monument to the April martyrs, the Treasury, the Cilicia Matenadaran, the museum and the archive, as well as the work of the departments of ecumenical relations, information and Christian education, and the recently built Bezikyan Center. They also met with the heads of various departments of the Catholicosate,” the statement says.

As part of the visit, the delegation also visited Trchnots Buyn, the Aram Bezikyan Museum dedicated to the orphans of the Armenian Genocide, the Armenian National Hospital in Azounieh and other sites. A meeting was held with Archbishop Shahe Panossian, Prelate of the Armenian Diocese of Lebanon.

The delegation members also visited the National United Gymnasium, met the administration and students, went to Aintoura to study the historical traces of the Armenian orphanage, and visited the Holy Mother of God Monastery in Bikfaya and Dprevank, where they met the inspectorate and students.

“At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation thanked Catholicos Aram I, highly praising the broad cultural and educational activities of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia. Representatives of the Narekatsi Armenological Institute expressed readiness to cooperate with the Catholicosate in various fields related to Armenology,” the statement says.
