Polls conducted in the Kotayk region following the June 7 parliamentary elections showed that residents distrust the legitimacy of the voting results. Alpha News survey participants, commenting on Nikol Pashinyan’s statement that 500,000 citizens who voted for the opposition had been bribed, called this slander.

“Today it’s precisely the authorities who are engaged in falsification. If punishment is due for this, they’d have to punish themselves, cut off their own hands,” one Alpha News poll participant noted.

Another resident emphasized that the authorities are trying to hold onto power at any cost, since they no longer enjoy the public support they once had.

“People don’t want him, he’s selling out our homeland, why should he be supported? He’s determined to get re-elected so he can sell off the rest of our homeland too, just as he sold Artsakh. That’s exactly his goal,” another Kotayk resident added.
