Kerob Ekizyan: Greek Armenians join the protests against Azerbaijani genocidal actions
Greek Armenians join the protests against Azerbaijani genocidal actions, Editor of the Armenian Azat Or newspaper in Greece Kerob Ekizyan said in a conversation with Alpha News.
“This movement is not new; it has been initiated since the beginning of the 44-day war. Two or three days after the start of the war, the Armenians of Greece were the first to organize a protest against the war unleashed by Azerbaijan. After that, the Armenians of Greece have repeatedly and publicly demonstrated their support for Armenia and the people of Artsakh,” he recalled.
Kerob Ekizyan said that Greek Armenians also held rallies in front of the Armenian Embassy in Greece.
“We also organized a rally to support the people of Artsakh. In the Diaspora, we believe that all Armenian embassies diplomatically represent Artsakh,” he said.
He also stressed that they held special political meetings.
“Last April, the Armenian delegation of Greece, including Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Greece, and members of all kinds of unions, met with the Chairman of the National Assembly of Greece. We addressed him a letter, urging the Greek State and the National Assembly to support the people of Artsakh,” he said.
Ekizyan emphasized the importance of having strong ties between two states for more than 30 years.
