Labeling banners supporting Samvel Karapetyan as advertisements is illegal — lawyer Vardan Aloyan

Police have just issued a warning that the banners reading “Freedom to Samvel Karapetyan,” displayed on the wall of the Dalma Garden Mall, are going to be dismantled. Alpha News is on the scene and spoke with lawyer Vardan Aloyan about the situation.

“They are trying to dismantle the banners put up as part of an awareness campaign regarding Samvel Karapetyan’s detention. A warning was just issued, but the actual removal hasn’t started yet—they’ll likely bring in equipment and attempt to take them down. As in previous cases, the police are again expected to try entering private property.

We are once again alerting the police to remove individuals who are attempting to enter the premises without the owner’s permission and carry out certain actions—specifically, to damage or remove the banners. But experience shows that the police turn a blind eye to this issue. The same thing happened at the Tashir Mall, where no action was taken either,” the lawyer told Alpha News.
