(LIVE) March in support of Samvel Karapetyan

A march in support of businessman Samvel Karapetyan, owner of the Tashir Group of Companies, kicks off in Yerevan.

Samvel Karapetyan was arrested on June 18, 2025, on charges of publicly calling for the overthrow of the constitutional order. The arrest followed his statements supporting the Armenian Apostolic Church amid the conflict with the authorities and possible nationalization of the Electric Networks of Armenia. The court has ordered two months of detention. Karapetyan himself called the charges fabricated and politically motivated.
