Luis Moreno Ocampo awarded Medal of Gratitude at Armenian Embassy

Luis Moreno Ocampo, the Argentine lawyer, specialist in international law, the first prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (2003-2012), professor at Harvard and Yale Universities, and Deputy Prosecutor in The Trial of the Juntas in Argentina (1985), was awarded the Medal of Gratitude of the Republic of Armenia.

The award ceremony took place on January 5 at the Armenian Embassy on the occasion of his reports on the genocide committed by Azerbaijan against the Armenian population of Artsakh.

The event, held by Armenian Ambassador to Argentina Hovhannes Virabyan, was accompanied by a video message from Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, awarding Ocampo “for his contribution to the strengthening and development of friendly relations between Armenia and Argentina, as well as the defense of human values.”

The event was attended by former Judge León Carlos Arslanian, international relations expert Juan Gabriel Tokatlian, vice president of the Socialist International and member of the Armenian National Council Mario Nalpatian, representatives of the embassies of the United States and Brazil, officials, heads of the Argentine Foreign Ministry and Armenian institutions of the Argentine Republic (IARA).
