The animated film “Elio”, created by Pixar Studios together with Walt Disney Pictures, is one of the most anticipated animation projects of the year. The film, which follows a boy with a vivid imagination, is set to premiere on June 20.
Among the directors of “Elio” is Armenian-born American animator Madeline “Maddie” Sharafian, an Oscar nominee and two-time Annie Award nominee. While still a student at the California Institute of the Arts, she gained recognition for her short film “Omelette” about a dog trying to cheer up its owner with food.
In 2020, she released her project “Burrow”, a story about a rabbit trying to build the house of its dreams. Madeline Sharafian also worked as a storyboard artist in the animated series “We Bare Bears” and the animated film “Coco”.
