Madeline Sharafian’s Elio released in theaters worldwide
The animated film Elio, which follows the story of a boy mistakenly identified as Earth’s ambassador by aliens, was released worldwide on June 20. This cosmic adventure has become one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
One of the project’s directors is Madeline (Maddie) Sharafian, the first Armenian woman to co-direct a feature film for Pixar. Her involvement marks a significant milestone for both the Armenian diaspora and the studio itself.
The film also features a cameo by actress Angela Sarafyan, who is of Armenian descent, adding even more cultural symbolism and references to the project.
