Meghri residents oppose ‘corridor’

Azerbaijan should not have a corridor through Syunik, residents of Meghri say.

“If our government agrees, Meghri residents will not agree, and Kajaran residents will not agree either,” says one Meghri resident.

“We do not support the corridor. A road can be given, but not a corridor,” added another citizen.

According to one of the residents, steps should be taken to ensure that this issue is completely removed from the agenda. They emphasized that the term “corridor” should be eliminated altogether.

“If we are talking about opening routes, we are in favor—but control should be on our side. How can we be sure they are not transporting weapons or tanks? How can we leave it unchecked?” added another resident.
