Mher Grigoryan: Gyumri will receive the honorary status of the CIS sports capital

Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan participated in the session of the CIS Council of Heads of Governments in Moscow.
In his opening remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister underscored the importance of cultural cooperation and emphasized that in 2024, the Armenian city of Gyumri will receive the honorary status of the CIS sports capital, which will open its doors to all those who wish to participate in upcoming sports events of the CIS countries and get acquainted with the cultural heritage of the “city of masters”.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that during the 18th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, Gyumri’s blacksmithing tradition was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
