Pashinyan’s motivation was to achieve the positions held by previous leaders, clinical psychologist Mihrdat Madatyan said in an interview with Alpha News.
“At one time, oppositionist Pashinyan actively spoke about the practice of overusing official cars. But we have never had such a thing before. Studying the psychological picture of Pashinyan and his path—and five years have already passed—we clearly see that all the nails that were hammered in 2018 were later all bent back.
Pashinyan talked about different ideas and said that the people were being robbed, but in fact, since then, the completely opposite has been done. If we put aside the real beneficiaries of the 2018 coup and look at the motivation of Nikol Pashinyan, we will see that his motivation was to achieve the positions that the previous leaders had. And we can say that in this regard, he not only achieved these positions but also surpassed them to a significant extent. Because if we compare Pashinyan’s current fleet of cars and government officials, the resources that protect them, we will see that none of the former government officials, be it one of the former presidents, MPs, or prime ministers, have ever used such a state resource,” Madatyan said.
According to the clinical psychologist, Nikol Pashinyan’s key problem lies in his fears.
“The highest value for Pashinyan is glory, which has always been the subject of utopian aspirations for him. As an insignificant tabloid reporter, he could never have dreamed that he could sit in such a car or that such people would serve him. Let’s put aside the question of self-realization. Pashinyan’s problem is fear.
Yes, Pashinyan is scared. He understands that today he has repeatedly deceived his audience—the people who selflessly fought for him. Pashinyan understands that there may be a parent of the deceased who will try to take revenge. World statistics show this. Pashinyan understands that he failed all the ideas that were at the core of Armenian identity and Armenian patriotism. For sure, internal fear leads to the fact that he travels around Armenia with so many guards, bodyguards, and cars, because today Pashinyan lives with the idea that he is in danger, which can occur at any time,” Mihrdat Madatyan concluded.
