Could TRIPP be launched before the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan is finally signed? Narek Karapetyan, head of the Strong Armenia faction, put this question to Ararat Mirzoyan, Foreign Minister of Armenia, in the National Assembly.

In particular, the MP asked whether TRIPP could begin operating on the basis of the agreements reached between Armenia and the United States while the peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku has not yet been signed.

In response, Mirzoyan said such a scenario is possible. “The question is entirely appropriate, and I can say with confidence: yes, it is possible. We see two things. First, the peace treaty has already been initialed, and Armenia and Azerbaijan have publicly committed themselves and expressed their position on the existence of this treaty. Roughly speaking, we believe in every letter of it, every provision, and we do not call it into question. Azerbaijan says it will not sign it for now, and adds itself that it will sign the very next day once that reason is removed,” the Foreign Minister said.
