“Mr Macron, you must not support someone committing genocide against his own people”: Ishkhanyan

The father of a missing Armenian soldier handed a letter to Emmanuel Macron as he returned to his hotel after a morning run.

Liparit Tovmasyan told Sputnik Armenia that, on behalf of all parents of missing servicemen, he is asking the politician to raise with Aliyev the issue of determining their fate.

At the hotel at that moment was also the well-known activist and human rights defender Hovhannes Ishkhanyan, who last year was removed from a church service by Nikol Pashinyan’s security. Addressing the French leader, Ishkhanyan urged him not to support actions by the Armenian authorities that contradict the Constitution.

“Mr Macron, you must not support a person who tramples on the Constitution, who is committing genocide against his own people,” he said.
