No relief will come while Mr. Pashinyan remains in power: Zatulin

Konstantin Zatulin, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, assessed the possibility of relief in trade and economic relations between Russia and Armenia in an interview with National News Service. According to him, this will not happen as long as Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan remains in power.

The parliamentarian emphasized that all the deterioration in relations is linked to Yerevan’s course, which is attempting to form alliances with Moscow’s adversaries.

“Despite periodic contacts, there will be no relief as long as Mr. Pashinyan remains in power,” Zatulin said.

He added that Russia will not give in to blackmail from Armenia. The deputy also believes that the Prime Minister will not hold a referendum on joining the European Union, since he is afraid of losing it.
