Paris City Council condemns illegal arrest of Artsakh leaders and calls for their release

On February 13, Paris City Council unanimously adopted a statement over “the alarming situation of the former leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh detained in Azerbaijan”, the Armenian Embassy in France reports.

Armenian Ambassador to France Arman Khachatryan attended the session at the invitation of the Paris Mayor. The statement highlights Mayor Anne Hidalgo’s visits to Armenia and her unwavering solidarity with the Armenian people, as well as reaffirms the Paris City Council’s full support for Armenia and the Armenian people.

Addressing the circumstances of the arrest of the former leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh, the conditions of their detention in Azerbaijan and the fabricated charges against them, the Paris City Council condemns the illegal arrest of the former leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh and the sham trials and demands their release.

The statement was put to a vote by Deputy Mayor Arnaud Ngatcha.
