Speaking with Alpha News, Russian political scientist Alexey Martynov commented on the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
According to the expert, official Yerevan is pursuing an anti-Russian policy.
“I think that it is not all about Moscow, Baku or Yerevan; it is all about the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. He openly and deliberately refused to participate in the CSTO summit in Minsk, which will take place on November 23, where all heads of states will be present. Although Armenia is still a full member of this organization. This is all anti-Russian propaganda on the part of official Yerevan.
There is one theory, which is indirectly confirmed by experts, that the latest shameful escalation was somehow provoked or launched with the assistance of the same Pashinyan and his campaign, with the aim of dragging Russia into this conflict through the CSTO system.
It seems to me that this was one of the main goals of the actors or moderators instigating the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. And the moderators were the British, the British intelligence services through their Turkish colleagues, through Erdogan,” the political scientist said.
“As for the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, there are many nuances that require meticulous diplomatic work rather than these irresponsible statements and public games on the part of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan,” Martynov said.
