Photo of Haghartsin Monastery in Top 10 of 2023 Wiki Loves Monuments

The photo of the 700-year-old Haghartsin Monastery by Vladimir Pankratov was ranked sixth in the 2023 Wiki Loves Monuments photo contest.

The international jury called the photo “an example of human ingenuity emerging from the earth, like trees in the middle of the forest”.

The Haghartsin Monastery is a spiritual and cultural center of medieval Armenia. Located near the town of Dilijan in the Tavush province of Armenia, it was built between the 10th and 13th centuries.
