Police decide to leave territory of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

Armenia’s National Security Service issued a statement noting that a decision has been made to leave the territory of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

“Today, while executing the decision to detain Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan, a gathering of citizens was observed on the grounds of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

To prevent any potential and deliberate escalation and ensure public safety, the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia and the police made a decision to leave the territory of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin,” the agency said in a statement.
