It will be very difficult for Armenia to counter threats without Russia — The People Speak

As part of “The People Speak” project, Alpha News conducted surveys in Yerevan and Armenian communities in the United States and Russia to gather public opinions on key issues facing the country today.
When asked what European integration would bring to Armenia, one citizen noted, “We have lived with Russians, Persians for hundreds of years, and we can’t convince ourselves that we are supposedly Europeans. We are Armenians.”
Another citizen emphasized that it will be very difficult for Armenia to counter external threats without Russian support.
“If there is help, or neighboring countries support us, a lot of things will be possible,” he said.
Many participants in the Alpha News survey noted that today Armenia has complicated relations with neighboring countries.
“It would be desirable for our country to be stronger, so that the Diaspora would also be confident,” one citizen said.
