When it comes to the civil service, the independence of civil servants must come first. This was stated by Aram Vardevanyan, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and an MP from the Strong Armenia faction, as he commented on the draft law on civil service.

“During political events, they must not become a tool or a victim of the abuse of administrative resources, and they must not become a tool for fulfilling the whims and wishes of a single political force,” he said.

According to Vardevanyan, officials whose mission is to protect the interests of civil servants must themselves respect the legislative initiatives they present and follow their spirit.
