Russian President Vladimir Putin has set tasks and defined the negotiating position of the Russian delegation in Istanbul following the results of the discussion of all profile reports the day before, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, commenting on the Russian-Ukrainian talks in Turkey scheduled for today.

When asked whether Putin plans to come to Turkey in the near future, Peskov responded, “No, there are no such plans at the moment.”

Peskov also clarified that no preparations are underway for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US leader Donald Trump in Istanbul in the coming days. “The issue has not been coordinated or raised in a substantive manner, so here we have nothing to say yet,” he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin previously offered Ukraine to resume direct negotiations without preconditions in Istanbul on May 15.
