Tensions flared at the start of the National Assembly session during a speech by Edgar Ghazaryan, an MP from the Strong Armenia faction. Ruben Rubinyan, Speaker of the National Assembly, urged the MP to stay within the agenda.
“Speak within the agenda or end your speech,” he said.
Ghazaryan continued speaking, after which the Speaker turned off his microphone. In response, the opposition MP pointed out that the time allotted for his speech had not yet run out.
“I am inviting Security Service staff into the hall so that Mr. Ghazaryan takes his seat,” Rubinyan said.
