Runner Yervand Mkrtchyan wins Balkan Championships, Razmik Ghazaryan takes silver

Armenian runner Yervand Mkrtchyan won a gold medal at the Balkan Athletics Championships in the Greek city of Volos on June 20–21.
He ran the 3,000-metre distance in 7:52.75, also setting an Armenian record. Another Armenian athlete, Razmik Ghazaryan, won a silver medal in the triple jump with a result of 16.20 m.
Yervand Mkrtchyan, two days before the championship in Greece, won an international tournament in France in the 1,500 metres with a time of 3:38.99.
