Russia extends trial of new entry rules to 2027

The trial period for implementing new entry rules for Russia, which require applications to be submitted through the RuID mobile app, has been extended to December 31, 2027.

As of June 30, 2026, under this project, foreign nationals arriving in the country for work or study are required to state the purpose of their entry and stay in an application submitted through the app. This information is used for verification when providing state services related to migration.

The trial continues to test the digital mechanism for visa-free entry, aimed at simplifying and systematizing migration procedures.
