Russia is concerned that, with Armenia’s approval, the EU mission may turn into a permanent one, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told RIA Novosti.

“Besides, as we know, in April this year Canadian representatives appeared in the mission, which de facto means NATO’s creeping penetration into the South Caucasus,” Galuzin said, adding that the Russian side constantly raises the topic of the EU mission in contacts with Yerevan and other regional partners.

“We remain convinced that it is possible to achieve durable peace in the South Caucasus only on the basis of comprehensive implementation of the 2020-2022 set of trilateral agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia,” he added.
