Since May 30, 2026, Rosselkhoznadzor has introduced temporary restrictions on the import of a number of agricultural products from Armenia to Russia. The topic has evoked widespread reaction, and Alpha News spoke with Yerevan residents to find out their views on what is happening.
“Such measures could have serious consequences for Armenia. It will hurt our economy and complicate the trade ties we are used to,” one Alpha News poll participant noted.
Another resident stressed: “We have always maintained friendly relations with the Russian people. And now it turns out that those ties are being abruptly severed.”
At the same time, some respondents expressed a more optimistic view.
“I am confident that Armenia will find a way out of this situation. One just needs to wait a little and show patience,” one of them said.
