Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has claimed that the country’s foreign relations have sharply deteriorated. In a Facebook post, he noted that the current authorities have damaged ties not only with Western partners but also with Georgia’s closest neighbors—Armenia and Azerbaijan.
According to Saakashvili, Tbilisi demanded that Yerevan restrict the activities of Georgian NGOs in Armenia, but Nikol Pashinyan’s government refused, stressing that Armenia has no law on “foreign agents.” He also claimed that the Georgian side threatened Armenia with transport restrictions, while Azerbaijan is already facing difficulties that some local media link to Moscow’s interests.
The former president strongly criticized the government’s foreign policy, declaring that it is leading the country toward diplomatic isolation and conflicts with key partners.
