Samvel Karapetyan on whether “Strong Armenia” will take up mandates

“Strong Armenia” will take up its mandates if the party is confident that doing so will help remove Nikol Pashinyan from power more quickly. Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the party, told journalists this at a briefing outside the Anti-Corruption Court.
“If we determine that we can remove Pashinyan more quickly through parliament, we will go to parliament. If we conclude that we can remove him through street protests, we will go that route,” Karapetyan said.
According to him, Prime Minister Pashinyan did not win the election.
“If ‘Civil Contract’ is confident in its victory, it should agree to a second round to legitimize the election results. Armenia must have a legitimate government for the country to develop,” he emphasized.
According to Karapetyan, a second round would be simpler, as there would be no vote-splitting parties. He also announced that “Strong Armenia” will appeal to the Constitutional Court.
“We will come forward with two demands: to annul the election results and to call a new election or a second round,” Karapetyan said.
