Searches at the Kocharyan home were purely propagandistic in nature: lawyer

Tatevik Soghoyan, member of the defense team of Robert Kocharyan, second President of the Republic of Armenia, stated at a press conference that, in her view, the searches of the Kocharyan family’s apartments were not aimed at uncovering a crime or seizing any related items, but rather pursued a propagandistic goal: to seize some valuable items or objects so that the Investigative Committee could circulate footage of these scenes in its videos. She called on law enforcement to refrain from this kind of conduct.

“I call on the law enforcement system to remain within the bounds of law and order, not to violate the inviolability of people’s private lives and homes, and not to turn criminal proceedings into spectacles designed to satisfy public expectations,” the lawyer added.
