Military expert Oleg Blokhin commented to Alpha News on Ukraine’s strike on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea.

“This time Zelensky didn’t even deny that the strike was carried out by Ukraine. Here he decided to show someone that he can reach any vessel, even in the Caspian Sea. For some reason he decided that such a demonstration would earn him some bonuses, that his backers would be interested in his services for such matters from a diplomatic standpoint. Ukraine already has a mass of problems, and by making an enemy out of Iran, Zelensky is only adding new problems for Ukraine. Iran may well strike, and most likely will strike, Ukraine to show that it shouldn’t be trifled with. It’s unclear what the damage will be, but there will be damage,” Blokhin said.

According to the expert, Iran may respond to Ukraine’s attack on the vessel.

“I think Iranian ballistic missiles will reach their target. Right now, amid the fact that the United States has paused its strikes because it decided they weren’t producing the desired effect, while the depletion of the air defense system continues, it’s precisely during this lull that Iran could well send Ukraine its ‘gifts.’ And no one is going to fire back for Ukraine’s sake, 200 percent guaranteed. Zelensky, simply out of a lack of judgment, like his whole team, thinks that Iran is far away and can’t reach them. It would, of course, be interesting to see if this strike does happen and causes our adversary serious problems. And the blame here lies entirely with Zelensky. Everything being said about supposed instructions from Israel is nonsense. There were no instructions from Israel whatsoever, especially when it comes to an attack on a merchant vessel. This is purely the personal initiative of those who carried it out, and then of Zelensky, who supported all of it and for some reason decided it was cool,” Blokhin concluded.
