Supporters of Strong Armenia party detained

Supporters of Samvel Karapetyan’s Strong Armenia party, as well as another female member of the party, were detained early in the morning. This was reported on social media by Gohar Meloyan, a member of the political force.

According to her, searches are being conducted simultaneously. Meloyan noted that she is on her way to the Anti-Corruption Committee and called on organizations working to protect the rights of women and members of the media to offer their assistance. She stressed that women have been the primary targets of the authorities’ recent crackdowns.

“The Armenian people have repeatedly proven their strength of will, especially under conditions of repression. For every one activist detained, ten more take their place!” Meloyan added.
