Surgeon Hayk Harutyunyan represents Armenia at Eurasian-Iranian Organ Transplant Congress

The Eurasian-Iranian Organ Transplant Congress 2025 took place from May 12 to 15 at the Abu Ali Sina Charity Hospital in Shiraz, Iran.

Armenia was represented at the event by Associate Professor Hayk Harutyunyan from the Department of General Surgery at Yerevan State Medical University. He also serves as the coordinator of the transplantation team at Astghik Medical Center.

In his report, Harutyunyan presented Armenia’s achievements, challenges, and prospects in liver transplantation. Professor Saman Nikeghbalian, Head of the Transplantology Center and Chairman of the Academic Council, also spoke at the event and expressed readiness to implement further joint projects.

The congress was attended by about 500 participants from Armenia, Russia, the United States, Belgium, Italy, Spain, France, Austria, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, and Belarus.
