The activities of the 7or.am website is paralyzed up to the present- The Armenian Mass Media Association

On May 22, 2026, representatives of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, accompanied by officers of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, conducted searches at the office of the “Mother Armenia” Party, as well as at the apartment, garage, and vehicle of Andranik Tevanyan. As a result, among other items, the technical equipment of the 7or.am news and analytical website, which ensured the uninterrupted operation of the site, was seized. Consequently, the activities of the 7or.am news and analytical website have been paralyzed from that day up to the present.
The Armenian Mass Media Association condemns this approach by law enforcement agencies. It is unequivocal that such actions directly contradict the fundamental values of a democratic society, freedom of speech and the press, and the principle of the unhindered operation of media outlets. Regrettably, we note that this manner of conduct has become recurring.
In light of the above, the Armenian Mass Media Association DEMANDS:
• The immediate return of all equipment that is vital to the operation of the 7or.am media outlet, in order to restore the website’s normal functioning.
• That, in the future, authorities refrain from practices that result in the paralysis of a media outlet, regardless of the legal proceedings within which such actions are carried out.
At the same time, we, the member media organizations of the Armenian Mass Media Association, once again reaffirm our readiness to provide 7or.am with technical and professional assistance, helping to ensure the continuity of its media production until the equipment is returned and the outlet’s normal operations are fully restored.
