The authorities have taken a dangerous step by placing Armenia at the center of the EU-Russia confrontation: Robert Kocharyan

The current authorities have done everything to turn the present election campaign into a political process poisoned with lies, fabrications, and words of hatred. This was stated by Robert Kocharyan, Armenia’s second president and prime ministerial candidate from the Armenia bloc, at a rally in Sevan.

“Everything they have done since 2018 has been an attempt to divide the Armenian people and turn people against one another. After the elections, we must begin the reverse process and, together with you, rebuild our country,” he said.

According to Kocharyan, the authorities did not stop at poisoning the country, they took an extremely dangerous step by placing Armenia at the center of the confrontation between the EU and Russia.

“This is the situation I warned about several months ago at various press conferences: for a small country in a complex region, this is not the best path. They have chosen for Armenia a fate very similar to the experience of Ukraine and Georgia under Saakashvili. We do not need this, and we reject it,” said Armenia’s second president.
