The latest hearing in the case challenging the election results has concluded at the Constitutional Court. Liparit Drmeyan, representative of the “Wings of Unity” party, answered journalists’ questions, laying out in detail the main points and legal arguments of their appeal. In his remarks, he stressed that the essence of their claim is not whether they made it into parliament or not, but the systemic violations that were recorded.

“We turned to the Constitutional Court not to argue about whether we would have entered parliament had the election results been declared invalid. Our claim is based on recorded violations which, in our view, were systemic in nature. And the main distinction of our appeal is that its cornerstone is precisely the violations committed during the pre-election campaign,” he said.

According to Drmeyan, it was the violations committed mainly by the ruling force that prevented the free will of voters from forming, will that could have been expressed under equal conditions.

“When voting at the ballot box and in the booth, voters were already subjected in advance to influence prohibited by law through the means we discussed during the court proceedings. Unfortunately, these doubts were not dispelled,” he added.
